School participation indicators provide information on the volume and characteristics of who is participating in the formal school system at a given point in time. Participation measures include indicators describing characteristics of the student body, counts of pupils, and indicators quantifying pupil numbers relative to the size of the overall population of the respective age group. If the participation rate is 70 percent, then the final level of interest credited to the contract owner is 5.6 percent (70 percent of 8 percent).
